That pesky Elf who wouldn't stay on the shelf.  This is where we found him Christmas Morning.  He was EVERYWHERE, on the Fridge, hiding on the fireplace mantel with the Santas, in the Fireplace, tied up and bound with duct tape. Kai says HIS Elf from home came over and did that to our Elf.

Well, Halloween was sort of a bust.  Hardly anybody showed up.  They're all afraid a bogy-man will get them so they do Trunk or Treat in the parking lot.  What fun is that? Susan dressed up to paint faces at a party....she was doing OK and of course, Kota and Kai were in good form.

Happy Birthday Susan! I'll be there were a couple of times in your life that you wondered if you would make it...but you did, you're here, a Mom and a Grandma (Me-me) and on your way to 100! At least James and Jesse were there, even if it was by phone!

Happy Birthday Mommy say Dakota and Kai.  Where have the years gone to? I think Mimi had a hand in this business.

We stopped off in Branson, MO on our way to Marble Falls.  We stayed in a nice hotel for four nights, complements of the Time Share presentation we had to sit through in order to receive the free nights.  We didn't do much other than drive around and go in a few stores.  The "Shows" are a bit expensive.  For example, you could to to Dolly Parton's place and watch pig races for $50 a pop, so we skipped that.  We did, however, take a riverboat cruse and they served a nice BBQ meal and the White River was beautiful that time of the afternoon.

What we have here is four of the five generations of Slussers.  Missing is Jessica.  We have John Sr., son John Jr., Great Grandson Damian and Great-Great Grandson Jax. Damian and Saleena came up from Lawrenceville to visit us and Shirley cooked up some Squirrel provided for by our nephew Todd up in Decatur.  It sure was tasty, a little tough, (needed a bit of pressure cooking before frying) but, you can't beat that squirrel gravy.

We were invited to Decatur to visit our nephew Todd and his wife, JoEllen for a fish fry.  We had a good time and some great crapie fish, deep fried perfectly.  Todd's neighbors must have smelled the fish and came to eat too.  He even sent us home with five (5) dressed and ready to fry-up squirrels.  Can't wait for that gravy.

Today was Kai Noah's first day of "School"...well, Pre-K anyway and he was enjoying every minute of it.  His Mommy and Daddy took of work to take him.

26 June 2019

Shirley went to the farm and later, she went to Florida with John to visit.  We have a new Great Grandson. Our newest Great Great Grandson is growing fast.  Also, Susan has a new set of wheels.  It's an oldie but goodie.

28 April 2019

What a great idea!  Moms went together and decided to have a combined birthday party for Kota, Kai, Zane and Isis at Udahl Park where they had a Jumping Castle , a DJ , lots of pizza and a birthday cake .  What made it most special and fun for all the kids was it was totally unorganized except for the singing of Happy Birthday and cutting the cake.  Even Mimi was there painting all the kids' faces...it was a great party.  Thanks, Sarah , it was fun!  Noisy for old people, but...fun!

26 April 2019

Looks like Jax is taking after his Great Grandfather John, he's barely 3 months old and is ready to walk!  Looks like he's happy with his daddy, no?

Below are a few of the goings on around here on Easter Sunday.  There were 2 dozen real Easter eggs and 78 plastic eggs with some money in them and only TWO (2) weren't found.  Wonder where they are?  Happy Easter Everybody!  One of these days, Aunt Sammy's face is going to freeze that way!

That young Jax with the priceless expressions, looks like he's got it all figured out.  Not quite 2 months old yet!  How fast they become their own personality!

12 February 2019

Mimi!  Paint my face!  What are you, Kai? Oh yeah, I remember!  IRON MAN!

Snowed in Tucson.  Doesn't happen very often, snowed all day...then by noon the next day....gone!

"Give me another month or two and I'll be running things around here!", says 1 month old Jax!  You know it!

PINEWOOD DERBY DAY

It's that time of year again...the boys have grown some and now we have another member of the family...Zane, who's in there now.  Dakota's "Baby Shark", Zanes "Mad Dog" and Kai's "Share the Love" didn't do so good, so it's back to the drawing board for Daddies Kris and Justin.  But look!  Baby Shark won the Best Attention to Detail award!!!  Way to go!

21 JANUARY 2019

That young man holding his brand new son is, unbelieveably, my great-grandson, therefore, Shirley and I are now Great-Great-Grandparents.  So, congratulations are in order for Damion and Saleena Slusser (poor kid will have to fight when he gets to school..."You got 4 names?"), the proud parents of  JAXTON JOHN-MICHAEL SCOTT SLUSSER, born 18 January 2019, weighing in at 9 lbs 4 oz and 21 inches.  A big boy at that! He'll just give 'em a shove and say "Yeah! What about it?"

Monsters in the house!  Mimi is getting to be quite a fact painter as these few
pictures will attest.  She should do it professionally?  Right, Dakota?
