        <15 seconds of fame>
Hi !  My name is John Slusser and I grew up on a farm near Casey, IL, started my education in a one-room school (Oak Point), graduated from Casey High School in 1957, spent 22 years in the USAF, retired, worked as an Electronics Engineer with Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon  for 18 years and retired again.  I became a partner in Eastern Illinois Internet service and we sold it after 3 years.  I worked over a year for DaVinci Research  here in Tucson.  We (DaVinci Research) started a new company,  Cardio Pneumatics Research, LLC (CPR) and now, it has evolved to another company, FSNC, and I'm a partner in that venture.    I've been an amateur radio operator (FUN!) since 1984, and I live in Tucson, Arizona with my bride & partner for over 48 years, Shirley Malcom from Martinsville, IL.  My amateur radio
call is: (Below)

By the way, this site is pretty graphical and requires some
patience or a fast connection.  There's some good stuff and
it's worth the wait...(IMHO)!

AMATEUR RADIO

What is Amateur Radio?  I could probably answer that question, but I think that you should click <here> and you can find out all about it from the ARRL (American Radio Relay League).   They're very informative and have a lot of neat links to follow.

Personally, my favorite mode of operation is SSTV (Slow Scan TV)...an amateur radio mode that allows the sending and receiving of graphical images.  Listed below, you can find a link to a gallery of some of the pictures that I have sent and received. And that's not all; I've included some of my favorite pages to visit....some are quite "kewl "!

Here we are!  Valentines Dance
in the Martinsville, Illinois High
School gym.  I had just arrived
home from basic training at
Lackland AFB, TX.  Not long
after this was taken we were
married in beautiful down town
Shawneetown, Illinois.  We were
married on 18 February 1959.
Where did these skinny young

people go?  Where did forty-seven
years go?

Note:
For our 47th anniversary, we went
out to eat at Saguaro Corners,
a medium priced restaurant,
and had a very nice meal.  The
$70 tab, which included the tip, was
just $15 less than my $85 monthly
pay as an A3C in 1959.
